A Regence ormolu mounted kingwood, bois satine and amaranth bombe serpentine commode
1725-1730
The moulded marble top above two short lozenge tablet inlaid and elm lined drawers, with one concealed central elm lined drawer, over two long elm lined drawers each with conforming lozenge tablet inlay, flanked by angles mounted with acanthus cast and shell surmounted Flora bust clasps, terminating in splayed square section feet, each end inlaid with quarter veneered twin tablets, there a few indistinct stamps visible to the carcass top, 134cm wide x 65cm deep x 86cm high, (52 1/2in wide x 25 1/2in deep x 33 1/2in high)

Restored crack running from the front to the back of the marble top.
Some shrinkage to both ends of the carcass.
Minor losses to a couple of small segments of the cross grain mouldings on some of the drawer edges.
