Description
Vintage Original Hand Colored 1876 Birdseye View of the Centennial Exposition in Philadelphia. This is a image that appeared in the 1876 centerfold of Harpers Weekly. It illustrates the enormity of the expo showing even the famous balloon above and all the buildings and grounds. The hand coloring was executed later and is expertly done, a plus. The view is from a photo by R. Newell & Sons and sketched by Theo R Davis. Drawn and engraved by Harpers Weekly. Condition is very good and the view measures 33”W X 23”H. Great piece to frame.
