Art carved pianos were only made a short time in the 1920s, and no two were alike. The mechanism on this is an Automatic Reproducer by Recordo. It was completely rebuilt 12 years ago by Brady Music Company. Jim Brady was an officer of the Mechanical Music Society. He appraised this piano for $50,000. When this piano was built by Werner in 1927, a Model T Ford Touring Sedan sold for less than $500. This Piano cost over $10,000. You could buy a fleet of cars or this piano. Finish is good. Original ivory keys have 7 minor flakes as shown. An Automatic Reproducer works similar to a player piano, except it plays with expression as if the pianist was sitting there. This piano comes with a matching bench (19" tall x 39" wide x 15" deep) and 21 rolls. This piano can be viewed by appointment only in Indianapolis, IN.
