Three John Young mezzotint engravings of Turkish Emperors and a Sultan19th century
lot consists of : 1. Amurath IV, Seventeenth Emperor of the Turks (1623-1640) 2. Othman II, Sixteenth Emperor of the Turks (1617-1671) 3. Mustafa I of Turkey (c.1591-1639), 15th Sultan of the Ottoman Empire (1617-1618 and 1622-1623); engravings are three from the folio suite entitled: Series of Portraits of the Emperors of Turkey, from the Foundation of the Monarchy to the Year 1815. Engraved from Pictures Painted at Constantinople. Commenced under the Auspices of Sultan Selim the Third, and Completed by Command of Sultan Mahmoud the Second. London: William Bulmer and Company, 1815.
