This is a wonderful advertising poster from 1948. It is for Olio Radino that is Puro e Squisito or Pure and Exquisite and is made "dall' oliva pregiata", "from the prized olive". Gino Boccasile (1901-1952) was an Italian illustrator and graphic designer. He is best known for his propaganda posters during World War II. Boccasile's posters were known for their bold, colorful designs and imagery. After the war, Boccasile was imprisoned for his collaboration with the Fascists. After his release, he returned to work as an illustrator, but his career was never the same. He died in 1952 at the age of 51. Boccasile's work is controversial, but it is also historically significant. His posters provide a glimpse into the visual propaganda and the way in which it was used to manipulate public opinion. This image is supposedly of his wife. It has been professionally mounted and framed, overall measures 20" x 25". Great piece.

Appears in excellent condition for age, light toning visible around edges.
