19th C Siebe Gorman Signaling Fire Horn Fog Horn Bellows

Item Details

Description

These are some amazing antique signaling bellows from Siebe Gorman Co. Ltd in England. Brass horn on a wood base with leather bellows and a steel spring with the pedal being cast iron. This piece was originally created to pump air to a coal miner helmet wearer and was later redesigned into what you see here. Fog Norn or Fire hoen. There are two brass plates that appear original, one is the company identification and the other is the instructions for helmet wearers. 30" tall x 14" x 23".

Appears in excellent condition for age, light wear around edges of leather, typical from use. Great piece.
