A RARE LONGQUAN CELADON-GLAZED 'CRANE AND CLOUDS' SAUCER DISH

The low, angled sides rising from a flat base supported on a narrow foot, the everted petal rim molded as a band of petals, the cavetto similarly impressed, the well molded with a crane soaring in the center and surrounded by four ruyi-form clouds, covered overall in a bluish-green glaze, save for the footring burnt orange from firing.

The dish is in excellent condition. Glaze color is good and even throughout. The appliques are done successfully. Tiny iron spots are original to the firing. Shallow nicks to underside of the foot rim.
