An antique French bronzed sculpture. Titled, “Lion L’affut” ("Lion: The Lookout"), after an original work by Isidore Jules Bonheur (1827-1901) and the foundry of Francois Auguste Hippolyte Peyrol (1832-1900). A lost wax casting work modeled as a stalking lion. Presented on a rectangular landscape base. Impressed signature BONHEUR to top of base.
Dimensions: 8 X 19 X 4.75 in.
Condition: Good overall condition having mild to moderate age related surface wear, with evidence of patina and verdigris. Estate fresh to the market.
