By the End of 1926, the German-American architect Ludwig Mies van der Rohe developed the Weissenhof Chair after the first ‘Kragstuhlentwurf’ by Dutch architect Mart Stam. By using a curved instead of square shaped tubular frame, in an ingeniously simple way the first resilient cantilever originated, described as MR10, which is still considered to be one of the classics of tubular steel furniture within the Bauhaus period.
