Description
AN ENGLISH REGENCY WALNUT AND MAHOGANY DROP LEAF WRITING TABLE, EARLY/MID 19TH CENTURY, the rectangular mahogany top with "D" shaped leaves lifting over pull-out slides surmounting figured walnut veneered drawers, raised on curule legs ending with disc feet on casters and joined by a paneled arched stretcher, height: 29", width: 41"; width open: 72 3/4", depth: 23". Provenance: Estate of Mr. And Mrs. Thomas Dunaway Anderson, River Oaks, Houston, Texas.
Condition
The top and bottom were likely paired sometime in the 19th century and do not appear to be original construction. Some surface wear and minor bubbling to the veneer. Some repairs, traces of green paint, and apparent minor wear.
