Description
A wonderful example of a 19th C. painted bottle on this German cherry red flattened chestnut form with seal called a German bocksbeutal which often contained a white wine. Scene depicts two friends dining together, with images of early champagne bottles & other early chestnut forms within the scene. Highly detailed and well executed. Flask itself retains 80% plus of its original label on reverse, cherry-red puce coloring, no damage with nicely impressed shoulder seal.
