RARE DUTCH COLONIAL GUYANESE GENRE SCENE, watercolor and pencil on paper, featuring soldiers marching in the street, with native inhabitants (probably enslaved) nearby, in front of a classic, regional-style home with a wrap-around porch and louvered window blinds, inscribed, in part, "Part of a street in Demerara - Representing the Fields House / 17 Oct 1820" in lower margin. Housed under glass in a period molded giltwood frame. Circa 1820. 8 1/4" x 10 1/2" object, 14 1/2" x 18 1/4" OA.

Condition
Good overall visual condition with minor toning and discoloration, margins trimmed and minor edge wear. Frame with moderate wear and discoloration. Not examined out of frame.
