Description

RARE ENGLISH GEORGIAN BRASS AND TURNED-MAHOGANY PAIR OF CANDLESTICKS, each ringed brass nozzles above a wide brass-lined drip pan, raised on a multi-knop mahogany stem having brass spacers and a brass ring, and a mahogany stepped-circular base. Circa 1750. 11 1/4" H, 4" D bases.

Provenance:

The important collection of H. Marshall Goodman Jr., Richmond, VA.

Condition

Very good overall condition, one pan frame with cracks and one old replaced section, the same stick with loss to half of lower brass spacer, the other stick with only two minor cracks and chips to pan frame.
