During her teenage years, she had the exciting opportunity to see her heart-throb, the young Frank Sinatra, in person, as his family was part of the local Italian American community. As a young woman, Angela worked as a medical stenographer at Saint Mary's Hospital in the city. It was there that she met and eventually married Dr. Robert Gross, a man with a deep passion for art and a keen interest in collecting various art forms, including Modern art, Haitian art, Asian art, French bronzes, and American art glass.
