Japanese Men's Haori, probably late 19th-early 20th century in date, is woven from fine brown silk with a mon at the back of the collar. As typical, the decorative elements are in the inferior of the jacket. The lining of brown silk is accented by a blue bridge. Three panels of landscape scenes are stitched to the lining. Two echo the bridge motif. The panels evoke fall, winter and summer with images of boating on a lake, covered bridge in the snow and a bridge in a fall landscape.
