Japanese Tea Pot with Celadon Porcelain Base, Shigeju Kato II ( Japanese 1829-1896) probably late 19th-early 20th century in date, the teapot is crafted of hammered copper with stylized Cloud-shaped patterns encircling the shoulders. It has a contrasting silver lining. The porcelain base is created to resemble a stand of bamboo stalks, each section is decorated and glazed with celadon-colored glaze, the top of the stand centered by a polychrome glaze flowered branch and a bird. Signed in enamel to the base.
