China, 20th century. Lu, Fu, and Shou are known as The Sanxing, or the Three Stars. Fu is the embodiment of fortune, and presides over the planet Jupiter. Lu represents prosperity and presides over Ursa Major, while Shou presides over Canopus and embodies longevity. These three figures have been depicted in this fashion since the Ming dynasty and have roots in Chinese folk law. Dating to the 1960s, these figures remain in excellent condition. Fu and Shou can be adorned with earrings of your choice, as they both have holes in their ears. 9.75" H x 5.0" W. Overall good condition, some slight loss to paint.
