made for the Persian market, attributed to Jacob Petit, the large figures richly decorated in polychrome and gilt, the Sultan wearing a turban, his right foot resting on a shield and sword, his attendant goat herder also richly dressed, with a staff in his left hand and a goat beside him, both raised on shaped square bases, the edges painted in maroon and with gilt floral decoration, the undersides marked 'MA'
