Emily Scherzel Arizona, California (1886-1957) portrait of an Asian man in robe watercolor on paper Signed lower right. Biography from the Archives of askART: A painting friend of Arizona artist Lon Megargee whom she met as a student in California, she studied with Leon Gaspard in Taos, New Mexico and also exhibited her work there at the Harwood Museum. By the mid 1920s, she had moved to Phoenix. Megargee did a portrait of her, which was in the collection of the Phoenix Museum of History.
