NEEDLEWORK SAMPLER
Circa 1835
Wrought by Mary A. Mariner. Rows of alphabets surround a small house, tree and maker's name at center. Verse "Jesus Permit thy gracious name to stand..." and row of numerals in lower section. Wide sawtooth border on top and side margins; darker-colored stylized sawtooth border at lower margin. Family history affixed verso.
16.5" x 16.5" sight. Framed 19" x 19".
