North America, United States, ca. 19th century CE. A collection of approximately 50 brass, copper-silver alloy, and bronze buttons collected from the Southwest. The faint American military eagle emblem is partially visible on several. Most are plain with domed or flattened faces, and a few are rosette of floral patterned. Several are cufflinks with toggle pins and wire rings attached. Sizes range from: 0.4" Diameter (1 cm) to 0.875" Diameter (2.2 cm); case: 8.25" L x 6.25" W (21 cm x 15.9 cm)

Losses to loops and versos to buttons. Mineral and earthen deposits throughout as shown. Green patina, rubbing and softening to faces. Displayed in modern Riker case.
