Dry Plate Hammer Trade Sign. St. Louis: Hammer Dry Plating Company, ca. 1900s. Hand-painted hammer trade sign in gilt, advertising film development services. Includes metal chain. Dry Hammer Plating Company was one of the earliest factory-size photography companies specializing in affordable film development. Dry plates allowed photographers to develop images portably. 24 x 8 ½”. Minor rusting to chain. Very good.
