Description
Japanese Samurai Tanto. This tanto was made during the Edo Period. The 7 inch cutting edge long hira zukuri shaped blade is hand forged and water tempered. The tsuba is pierced iron depicting pine trees. The entire sword is mounted is silver fittings. The repousse work is a mixture of vines and flowers. The tang is unsigned with one peg hole. The mekugi is a barrel type which unscrews.
