Description
"A Child's Garden of Verses" by Robert Louis Stevenson, illustrated by Gyo Fujikawa, published by Grosset and Dunlap, New York, 1957, First Edition for the illustrations.
Color decorated hard boards [a little soiling], large: 8.3/4" x 12.1/4"; illustrated endpapers [small surface damage-white spot inside front cover [see photo]; Billy Campbell, Jr. wrote his name on top of the front endpaper and top of the title page, 104 pages on high quality heavy paper, fully illustrated, very good condition.
"50 years later and I can still quote some of these poems. Sometimes I will see a child on a swing or look out a window and these poems come back to me. The images are so clear because Stevenson so aptly caught the essence of childhood. As a child I recognized it and now I remember it. Please read this to your children and reread it as an adult."
