Description
This stunning pair of disc shaped earrings was a collaboration between Artist James Hansen and Jewelry Maker Sally Ann Wekstein in the later part of the 1980s in Provincetown, MA. The pieces feature a Copper insert in a Brass bezel with face and fish designs. They measure approx. 1 3/8" in diameter and are signed "Wekstein Hansen". James (Jim) Hansen (1951-1997), a Figural Artist and Painter was technically skilled and original. He was an Instructor at Brandeis University and Yale, and was widely exhibited at Galleries and Museums. His works are featured in Permanent Collections at Museums, Colleges, and Libraries. Beginning in the 1980s he lived in Provincetown, spending summers in a studio at the Fine Arts Work Center, where these fabulous Earrings were probably made. Sallyann Wekstein is a Jewelry Maker out of the Boston Area. She also spent summers at the Fine Arts Work Center in Provincetown in the 1980s.
