w/ Provenance - France Shipping in USA $40. Edouard-Marcel Sandoz 1881-1971 was a Swiss animalier sculptor and painter Susse Freres Foundry(1930). He was the son of Edouard Sandoz , the founder of the chemical and then pharmaceutical company Sandoz, now Novartis.He studied at the School of Fine Arts in Paris with Antonin Mercie and Jean-Antoine Injalbert .He founded the French animal society in 1933 . His commitment to the service of his fellow artists led him to preside for nearly twenty years the Taylor Foundation , created by Isidore Justin Saverin Taylor . He created the Work of the Children of Artists and participated in the creation of the City of Arts in Paris .Sandoz was a member of the Academy of Fine Arts of the Institut de France . He was awarded the Legion of Honor.
