Norman Rockwell I (1894-1978) was an early 20th century American painter. His works enjoy abroad popular appeal in the United States, where Rockwell is most famous for the cover illustrations he created for The Saturday Evening Post magazine over more than four decades. Among the best-known of Rockwell's works are Rosie the Riveter and the Four Freedoms series.

He also illustrated Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn:Norman Rockwell was commissioned by the Heritage Press and Limited Editions Book Clubs to illustrate special editions of The Adventures of Tom Sawyer and Adventures of Huckleberry Finn. Rockwell traveled to Hannibal and prepared sketches which he rendered as eight illustrations for each book. The original Rockwell paintings hang in the Mark Twain Museum in Hannibal. These books have only been available on a limited basis in the past.
