East German civil defense or fire man's helmet from the 1950s. The helmet is made of vulcanized fiber with a tan leather liner and black thick leather neck cover. The helmet has a complete black leather chin strap. The lining is marked '57 60', is marked '2' on the skirt, and is marked 'M' in marker on the neck cover from the previous owner. Some loss of finish on the helmet's rim, and scratches from age and wear. Based on the German WWII helmet.
