JAPANESE NIPPON PORCELAIN HATPIN HOLDERS, LOT OF 11, each having gilt accents, including one horn-shaped example featuring polychrome transfer portrait of a young woman with elaborate raised gilt decoration and hole to back for hanging, three having matching three-petal pink flower design, and three square-form example including two with geometric decoration and one with delicate four-petal turquoise flower design. Printed marks include blue maple leaf with "NIPPON" and "Hand / Painted", blue circle with spokes and "HandPainted / NIPPON", green wreath with "M" to center and "Hand painted / NIPPON", "Compliments / of / T.M. Ward / Newark, N.J. / 1909", and "MADE IN / JAPAN". Late 19th/first quarter 20th century. Horn 6 7/8" HOA.

Ten undamaged, some having scattered wear to enamel decorations; one three-petal pink flower example having area of chipping to rim and foot.
