Polychrome magic lantern made by Edouard Lapierre around 1880. At this period the company produced a very popular range of lanterns for children, decorated with a characteristic transparent coloured lacquer , It includes a series of 14 hand colored slides with fairy tales subjects , Cinderella , Bluebeard , Little Tom Thumb , they have the green paper wraping around indicative of Lapierre production , the German production featuring orange or red paper wrap . ( wood box for the slides included ).I inserted an electrical light on the orginal petrol light so it can be used safely.
