Chinese Qing Dynasty Kangxi Jihong Porcelain Gourd Bottle. Potted in a shape of double gourd resemblance, with two bulbous bellies conjoined together, bulbous lower section finishing into a slender bottleneck at the top, cylindrical neck, raised on short ring foot base and slighty concave. All reserved in Jihong design color, means bright red glaze, turning red due to its copper content when fired in a reducing atmosphere. Red is the most important variety of China’s porcelain. It was originated in the Qing Dynasty. The red color of the packet symbolizes good luck, corresponding with fire, good fortune and joy. The Under base bears a reign mark, a six under glazed red script characters reign mark, enclosed within blue ring lines. Made in The Years KangXi Reign Period of The Great Qing Dynasty.
