1970 Stone Mountain Confederate Memorial Silver Completion Medal. Beautiful silver medal is struck in an antique gray pewter finish with a speckled toning. This medal was authorized by the US Government and struck by the Philadelphia Mint and qualifies as a National Commemorative medal. These are identified by a "P" mint mark on the reverse within the bottom of the wreath as can be seen on this example. A scarce medal, only 1,500 were struck. This one is marked on rim, "250." This medal measures 76mm (3") and weighs 8.770 Ounces Troy or 272.7 grams or 175.4 dwt or 4210 grains. From the Estate of Dr. Ronald Terhune. Condition- Medal has not been graded. See photos.
