Utagawa Hiroshige (1797-1858) Japanese woodblock print titled Hamamatsu. A Hiroshige-53Stations (Hoeido Tokaido) woodblock by Hiroshige. From the 53 Stations of the Tokaido (great Tokaido). Title: Station #30 Hamamatsu, winter scene. One of the most charming designs form this series. Date: 1833. Signature: Hiroshige with seal. Sight size: 7 3/8 by 5 3/8 wide. Frame measures 10 5/8 by 8 5/8 .Utagawa Hiroshige, born Ando Tokutaro, was a Japanese ukiyo-e artist, considered the last great master of that tradition. Hiroshige is best known for his horizontal-format landscape series The Fifty-three Stations of the TÅkaido and for his vertical-format landscape series One Hundred Famous Views of Edo.
