Suzuki Harunobu Japanese Woodblock of the Young Lovers in Iris Garden.Sight not including the plate marks measures 4 7/8 inches wide by 16 inches long. The glass covered frame measures 14 1/4 by 25 1/4 inches long. Suzuki Harunobu 1724 - 1770 was a Japanese designer of woodblock print art in the ukiyo-e style. He was an innovator, the first to produce full-color prints in 1765, rendering obsolete the former modes of two- and three-color prints.Attractive summer design of a young couple strolling through an iris garden. The young samurai bends down to tie his sandal as they pause beside a pond with a wooden walkway leading out over the water, irises blooming along the shore.
