Description
DESCRIPTION: Antique glazed Delft earthenware porcelain covered lidded box designed with a Fleur de Lys shape, in dark cobalt blue color with gilt painted overall foliage decorative motifs, and a crest as central decoration depicting a dragon and a crown. Designed by Justus Brouwer (Dutch, active 1739–1775), and manufactured by De Porceleyne Bijl (The Porcelain Axe) Factory, Delft. Marked with an axe on the underside.
