Description
DESCRIPTION: (2 Pc) A Pair of 19th Cent. French Rubelles earthenware fine faience plates with green glaze. Circular plates with moulded designs and crest motif on the center with inscription that reads: "Virtute et consiglio". Made at Rubelles pottery factory, France, about 1842-1855. By Baron Du Tremblay, Alexis (maker). Stamped with circular impressed mark: "Brevet ADT Divention". Similar Rubelles plates are exhibited in the collection of the Victorian & Albert Museum.
