Description
The Northern Collections of the Shipovnik publishing house. Vol. II and III in one book. Published in Saint Petersburg in 1908. In Russian. Custom hardcover with leather binding, initials I.E. on the bottom refer to Ilya Ehrenburg, 1891 to 1967, a notable Soviet writer, a friend of Pablo Picasso and Diego Rivera. With illustrations by Ivan Bilibin. The book includes Mysteries by Knut Hamsun and Sensitiva Amorosa by Ola Hansson, prefaced with an article by Alexander Kuprin. Shipovnik was an early 20th-century Russian private publishing which made a significant contribution to the development of Silver Age literature. The Northern Collections was a series published in 1907-1911 which featured works of Modern Scandinavian novelists. Antiquarian Librarian Books For Collectors.
