Pair of Barrell chairs.

With marks of use.
Measurements: 80 x 55 x 52 cm.
The Barrel chair was designed by Frank Lloyd Wright in 1937 for the home of client Herbert Johnson. Inspired by the shape of a barrel, it is a design of great simplicity. The chair consists of two parts, a semi-circular frame including legs and armrests and a circular seat covered in leather. Wright designed the Barrel chair so that it could be mass-produced within the means of the time.
Frank Lloyd Wright is considered one of the leading architectural masters of the 20th century. He was an American architect, interior designer, writer, and educator, who designed over a thousand structures, of which 532 were completed. Wright proposed the design of structures that were in harmony with humanity and the surrounding environment, a philosophy known as organic architecture. He was the initiator of the Prairie School movement, developing the Usonian concept of housing. In 2019, eight of Wright's works were declared World Heritage Sites by Unesco.
