Includes: one (1) rectangular box with sliding inset lid decorated with gold inlay designs of auspicious birds and central Japanese letter characters, and having dual sectioned interior compartment holding a carved slate or similar stone paint box, with carved raised relief fruit and flora to lid (slate box measures approximately 1.75" x 7" x 4.5"); and one (1) slanted wood secretary box with diamond pattern design throughout, roll top lid with sectioned interior compartment for brushes, paint or ink bottles, and bottom drawer opening to additional storage compartment. No apparent signatures. Larger box measures approximately 3.75" x 10.25" x 6.5".

Condition: Good to fair condition having mild to moderate age related surface wear. Slate box has losses to two corners of removable lid, with prior restoration to one corner. Estate fresh to the market.
