Description: Mid-Century Modern 'Laila' Sofa Set by Ilmari Lappalainen for Asko, Finland; Settee and Lounge Chairs Chic and stylish Finnish designer 5-seater sofa set newly upholstered in genuine cream Sheepskin. Both the sofa and the pair of lounge chairs were designed by Ilmari Lappalainen for Asko, a Finnish furniture manufacturer in the late 1940s/50s. This set includes a 3-seater sofa or settee as well as a pair of matching lounge or armchairs. Perfect for a sophistaced seating arrangement for a design-forward space. Designed and produced in Finland. Sheepskin, Lacquered Legs Finland, 1948 Ilmari Lappalainen trained first as a teacher of woodworking, then as an interior designer. Lappalainen’s designs are famously comfortable. This pair of lounge chairs are from his Laila series for Asko, where he was a designer from the late 1940s.
