Richard Avedon Lot of (4) Signed Picture Postcards - This lot includes four black and white picture postcards featuring images taken by famed fashion photographer, Richard Avedon. Richard Avedon was an American fashion and portrait photographer. He worked for Harper's Bazaar, Vogue and Elle specializing in capturing movement in still pictures of fashion, theater and dance. An obituary published in The New York Times said that "his fashion and portrait photographs helped define America's image of style, beauty and culture for the last half-century". The lot includes the following images: John Martin, Dancer, New York City 3-20-75; Juan Patricio Lobato, Carney, Rocky Ford, Colorado, 8/23/80; Elise Daniels with Street Performers, Le Marais, Paris, August 1948; Margot McKendry and China Machado with Members of the French Press, Paris Studio, August 1961.
