Elvis Presley Personally Owned Rattan Chair From Hillcrest Road Restroom W/LOA From Mike Moon - This rattan chair was owned by Elvis Presley and sat in his Beverly Hills home at 1174 Hillcrest Road. Elvis moved into the home in 1967 with his new wife Priscilla and the pair loved it so much they furnished it with the finest furnishings of the day. After Elvis and Priscilla's separation the home was sold fully furnished as Elvis stated, "This home is so perfect not even an ashtray should be moved." The new owner of the home sold the contents at the famous Hillcrest Road auction conducted by Don B. Smith, and this chair was acquired from the auction by Elvis collector Mike Moon. Mike Moon founded the Elvis Presley museum which at the time housed the world's largest privately owned Elvis collection. This chair was later acquired from Mike Moon by our seller. The chair comes with a certificate of authenticity issued by Mike Moon. According to our seller, many years after this chair was acquired, they were visited by a fellow Elvis collector who recalled this chair and remembered seeing it at Elvis' Hillcrest home. The woman asked to use the restroom, and when she entered she could not find the toilet. She went back to Elvis, slightly embarrassed, and asked where she could find the toilet because she could not see it in the restroom. Elvis told her to lift the seat on the wicker chair, and she returned to the restroom to find the toilet covered by this chair. The seat is hinged and lifts up to reveal a hole (please see photos).
