This type of prop is visible during a scene of the film when androids are seen going through piles of spare parts, with this type of leg seen in the pile.

This in turn greatly alters the world's population and "Mecha" robots are created as a result. All of these human-like beings have no emotion, except for a small humanoid, Haley Joel Osment as "David."

A.I Artificial Intelligence premiered in more than 3,200 theaters in the United States and Canada in June of 2001. It earned almost thirty million in its first weekend. When it opened, it was ranked numbed one in the theaters.
