Description

(1) NE Plus Ultra antique charcoal double chimney coal iron, Pat. July 29th, 1902. This scarce iron was designed by George Finn of Newark, NJ. The shield under the handle has Finn's stencil and company information (stencil is barely legible). Measures 6 1/4" high X 8 1/4" long X 5" wide. (1) Antique cast iron with figural faced damper. Manufactured by W. D. Cummings, Pat. 1852. Measures 9 1/4" high X 8" long X 4" wide. The Larry Mangus Collection, Corinth, Mississippi. Condition- Irons are in good condition with some surface rust. The Finn iron has plate loss, stencil loss on hand shield etc. Cummings iron's handle has wear and is missing some small chips. See photos.
