Description
Lot 3 framed items from estate of Dr. Eric H. Hansen. Includes a collection of about 21 medals and awards including: 3 in silver presentation medal to Hansen from Japan for Outstanding Service; Other medals for service include Scotland, Netherlands, England, Turkey, Denmark (2), Norway, Mass. and Pennsylvania & NY medal of honor. Plus large Morocco Commanders Cross & Moroccan Officer Cross plus 2 mini Moroccan Officer crosses, 2 Gold crosses of honor from Denmark, etc. Plus a set of 4 framed submarine launch tags from 1944/45 (USS Piranha, Razorback, Scabbardfish, and Conger) with info and captain names. These were official launching party emblems issued to naval personnel and civilian employees authorized to launch boats. They were only issued for launches of Portsmouth Naval Shipyard submarines from either Portsmouth, NH or Kittery, Maine. Perhaps as few as 300 were issued during wartime launches. And a framed photo of man on horse with presentation from John Macomber to Hansen in 1946, 7.5 x 9 in.
