1865, 1st edition. London: Sampson Low, Son, and Marston. In the original gilt-blocked cloth. Spine bands and panel edges somewhat dulled and rubbed as with age. With 42 Illustrations drawn on wood by Thomas Scott, Engraved by J.D.Cooper, after designs by Moritz Reztsch. Schiller's Lay of the Bell . Translated by the Rt . Hon . Sir Edward Bulwer Lytton , Bart .
The "Song of the Bell" (German: "Das Lied von der Glocke", also translated as "The Lay of the Bell") is a poem that the German poet Friedrich Schiller published in 1798. It is one of the most famous poems of German literature and with 430 lines one of Schiller's longest.
