Three Hanging Cutlery Boxes, America, 19th century. Assembled group includes one shallow box with serrated pierced handle above nailed four-slot frame, with applied leather pocket riveted to proper right edge, the boards impressed 'JSP' on front and reverse, together with three pewter spoons; one shallow box with ogee arched top above integral compartment with six slots covered by panel nailed to front, together with five wood-handled knives, one marked by Foster Bros., one by Landers, Frary & Clark, New Britain, Connecticut, and two bearing marks of D. Harrington & Son, 'Cutlers to the People', Southbridge, Massachusetts; and one box with pointed arch top drilled for hanging nailed to raked slotted compartment above thumb-molded box joined to base, together with four pewter spoons (imperfections), 25cm wide, 2cm deep, 43cm high (10 1/4in wide, 1in deep, 17 5/8in high).
