Transfer-printed 'Shipwright's Arms' Creamware Bowl with Portraits of Washington, Franklin, and Lafayette, England, c. 1800. Large footed bowl decorated with 'THE SHIPWRIGHT'S ARMS' in well, oval portrait medallions on the exterior walls inscribed 'FAYETTE / THE NATION'S GUEST', 'WASHINGTON / HIS COUNTRY'S FATHER', and 'BEN'J. FRANKLIN, L.L.D. F.R.S.', as well as the United States seal encircled by inscription 'REPUBLICANS / ARE NOT Always UNGRATEFUL', alternating with floral sprays, diam. 8 1/2, ht. 3 3/4 in.
