Description
An antique early 20th-century Orthodox icon representing Saint George slaying the dragon. Mixed media painting: egg tempera, gesso, and levkas on a wood board. A copy of a 15th-century icon, Novgorod school, the original piece is now in the collection of the State Tretyakov gallery in Moscow. Titled and signed on the backside, Zygmunt Grabowski. Zygmunt Grabowski, 1891 to 1939, was a Polish painter who is known for his participation in the 1936 Summer Olympics Art Competition. Christian Orthodox Icons, Religious Items And Collectibles.
