This is a true 540 lbs. Wild Lion. His mane is not big, but he is fully mature. Some wild African Lions do not have the genetics for growing big manes and some live in dense thorn brush where the hair gets torn off on a regular basis. I believe this Lion had both of these problems. The top portion of the tail has a crack in it which was caused from moving the mount and bumping the tail in and out the doorways. The Lion also has some hair loss on top of his feet, probably from not re-salting the wet skin during the drying out process. The mount is clean and in very good condition other than the problems mentioned. The feet were painted over where the hair loss occurred and not very noticeable. The taxidermy quality level is an 8.5. The belly area of this big Cat is huge!
